Terrie Read Kvenild creates bright, whimsical creatures that are equally delightful in a home or out in the garden. Constructed from materials both heavy and fine, her animals begin with a metal armature, are then layered with concrete to which fine Lundeberg glass and distinctive porcelain pieces are applied and then finished with colorful grout. Graduating Cum Laude from the University of Santa Cruz in Fine Arts, Terrie has been working with ceramics for nearly three decades and is a grant recipient from the California Fine Arts Council. Exhibitions include the Museum of Art and History in Santa Cruz, CA, the Monterey Peninsula Museum of Art, Monterey CA, as well as galleries in Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Collectors range from the Ministry of Justice in South Korea to Willie Brown, the former mayor of San Francisco.
