Held is an internationally recognized artist who has been creating sculpture since the late 1970’s. He studied painting, sculpture and graphic art at UCLA, where he received both his BA and MFA in sculpture. He opened his California based studio in 1985 and has produced numerous private and public commissions since then, which can be found throughout the US and Asia. His public and private commissions and collectors include the Howard Hughes Corp., Las Vegas, NV, Price Waterhouse, Washington DC, First Republic Bank, New York, NY, Louis Vuitton, Moet Hennessey, San Francisco, CA, Kobe Steel Corporation, Japan, the City of Los Angeles, CA, and The Midway Trading Company in the Philippines. In 2011, Held designed the elegant and modern trophy for the Pac-12 College Football Conference Championship. Held’s style is exquisitely simple and direct with the majority of works constructed in bronze and stainless steel.
